Textures in Haliburton

Halliburton is a small town that is about 3 hours away from Toronto. It is filled with cottages and farmland.

I do love it here. Very relaxing. I would go back again to camp for thanksgiving weekends (when trees are no longer boring green but vibrant red and yellow)

Roll down your windows and breathe in the fresh country air, but be mindful there is a cow every block.. and it does smell like manure.

I have been caught off guard twice… and i breathed in half a pound of horse $hit.

On that stinky note.. enjoy the photos… and feel free to leave me a note or comment… I would love to hear what you think (i have no friends.. .any message would do… please)… :)

What knot to bear!

I find the knots in wood so interesting, it could be a 50 year old tree with many rings and so much character and we never sit and appreciate these things.

In life we do not look at the little things. We bypass it because of our busy lives and work and family and such. There is so much more to life then that. So much beauty we don’t see not because we can’t see but because we don’t take the time to.

Knots:
Sometimes they look like fat kids,
with litte scrunched up eyes
Sometimes they look like aliens
carrying megatron string ray guns
Sometimes they look like works of art
that fasincinate your eyes
Sometimes a knot is just a knot
a driftwood on the beach

But sometimes it bears the troubles of the world

Texture me this! -Numero uno

We see them everywhere… we ignore them. We are use to them.. they are textures. There is beauty in textures. So much varitey, range in colors, relief, TEXTURE.

I will do a series of textures when i feel my light bulb flash. Hipstamatic just brings out these textures. It is such a wonderful app, it vignettes the corners, it blooms the center, it makes the edges all raggedy.

I love it.

Next attempt… the time lapse app
