Happy Anniversairy Penny and Don

Boy, I painted this plate during prep of Kickass2 and am NOW taking the time to upload it. :) Time flies.

This plate is for Penny W at Ps. I painted this on the weekend between my prep and shoot day. It took about 1 hour or so to paint which is the LONGEST i have ever painted a plate. EEK! I remember Penny somehow liking the Indian culture so i decided to paint this plate in a Henna Style in HOPES she will like it :)

BTW She liked it! :) She was so surprised! I got to work earlier so I could surprise her! :)

Happy Anniversairy Keith and Rosalee

I painted this plate for my coworker Keith. Shawn and I went to visit their lovely home 45 minutes away from Niagara falls one weekend. I have fallen in love with the country and LAND. Yes its is ONE thing they don’t make anymore … Property. We would like about 100 acres.

Well it was my first time meeting Rosalee, Keiths lovely wife. They are celebrating 23 years of marriage in a week. Wow what an amazing LONG LOVING marriage. I hope I will be so happy one day with my darling. Well I decided to draw this plate for them. It says “happy 23 anniversairy” then on the bottom “Keith and Rosalee.” Shawn gave me the idea of having two kissing sea horses in the center. The right side is a ‘lady’ with lashes and a curvy figure. The other is a tubbier male with a belly. No comment.

Custom plates for Claire and Jill

I was contacted last week about making two custom plates for some sisters.

Unfortunately their parents had past away recently so this person wanted some custom plates with verses to help these girls out.

One plate was for Claire. She is girly and loves arts and crafts. I used my pebeo navy blue for the letters and peacock blue for embellishments around the edges (its a circle so around the circle) and used the tip of my paint brush to dot some of the frills around the edges. I was told Claire loves flowers so I put a sunny cute sunflower in the center and dotted the center with brown.

“Dearest Claire,
Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
-Isaiah 41:10

I hope she likes it.The next plate is made for her sister Jill.

My Dear Jill,
“If we live, we live to the Lord;
and if we die, we die to the Lord;
so then, whether we live or whether
we die, we are the Lord’s.”

-Romans 14:8

She is less girly more serious. I wanted to use bright colors like orange and yellow for the letters. As you can see the letters are more straight and less curvy and cute like the plate for Claire.

I hope they both like their plates. Its sad to draw a plate under this circumstance. It really is. But I do think it will bring them some ‘peace’ and comfort in knowing they are NOT alone and there is a bigger purpose out their in their lives.

God bless you Claire and Jill

2 Corinthians 12:9a – Painted ceramic plate

Alex (my odd brother) asked me to make a plate for his friend Mark. He requested the full verse of 2 Corinthians.

2 Corinthians 12:9

New International Version (NIV)

9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.After 4 attempts I texted Alex back and told him I could not fit such a long verse on a plate. (Yes I had to use rubbing alcohol and other things to scrub it off… because after it dries it sets, and after you ‘fire’ (put it in the oven) oh your screwed))So Thankfully Alex said it was ok. He also asked me to draw vines with little grapes, so thats what i did. I do like the color combination of this plate. I usually am predictable, I use blue, peacock blue and gold.I hope Mark enjoys this plate.I am still considering making a etsy listing for painted ceramic plates…. I am unsure. Its hard for me to part with them.

The love birds

I drew this tea coaster for Shawns mom, Deloris. Its portrays Deloris and Sherald as two cute love birds. I had a lot of fun and i knew they would appreciate this, since i got them addicted to tea… They have had coffee all there lives and now ‘oolong’ has taken over :) I am thankful for that change.

This is to you, you two LOVE BIRDS.

Ceramic garden pieces

Here is another one of my pieces i made recently…

I like swirls and trills, they are such a simple way to embellish a piece.

This particular piece of marble is left over from my kitchen flooring (i could not throw it out), so i have been making garden pieces…

Look forward to seeing more… believe me there are many odd and end pieces

Labour day weekend crafting

I was up at Shawn’s place for Labour day weekend. I brought up my beads for our friday bead day and some ceramic pens to draw on plate.

I was in heaven.. a cabinet full of empty plain old white plate. Perfect, i felt my heart stop, my mind racing.. i wanted to start right away. I had so many ideas.

I was given a mug to start with, i chose my favorite color, peacock blue and i started. I wasn’t sure what i was going to do, I knew i wanted something girly with frills and trills.

Here i go….

It was alot of fun as all crafting is. I can’t wait to get my hands on another plain plate or cup. It will have to wait until the hiatus on Listener.. boo :(

I left it to dry for 24 hours then baked the cup at 325 degress in the oven and let it cool. Ta-da a dishwasher safe handmade (hand painted) mug)

LOVE IT…

Until next time… keep fit and keep crafting. (from body break :)
